Dr. Lewis Blevins is a neuroendocrinologist who specializes in the evaluation and medical management of patients with various disorders of the pituitary gland and hypothalamus. He has particular expertise in diagnosing and treating Cushing's syndrome. He also has extensive experience in treating patients with acromegaly, prolactinoma's, other pituitary tumors, diabetes insipidus, hypopituitarism, and growth hormone deficiency. Dr. Blevins is medical director of the California Center for Pituitary Disorders at UCSF.

His current research interests are improving diagnostic tests for patients with hypercortisolism and Cushing's syndrome. He is also interested in clinical predictors of surgical and medical success for different types of pituitary tumors. Dr. Blevins is also involved with industry-sponsored trials to evaluate new pharmacologic therapies for patients with pituitary tumors.
